Pizza is an oven-baked, flat, disk shaped bread typically topped with tomato sauce, mozzarella

cheese, and other toppings depending on the culture. Another name for a pizza is a pizza pie. Pizza originated in Nepal, Italy. The Ancient Greeks would cover their bread with oils, herbs, and cheese. Then, the Romans developed placenta, a sheet of flour topped with cheese and honey and flavored it with bay leaves. Modern pizza originated in Italy as the Neopolitan Pie with tomato. King Ferdinand (1751-1825) is said to have disquised himself as a commoner in clandestine fashion, visited a poor neighborhood in Naples and he wanted to sink his teeth into a food that the queen had banned from the royal court, which was pizza. In 1889, during a visit in Naples, Queen Margherita of Savoy was served a pizza resembling the colors of the Italian flag, red, white, and green which represented Tomatos, Mozzarella cheese, and Basil. This kind of pizza has been named after the Queen as Pizza Margherita. You could also put pinapples on your pizza if you would like to. Another topping you could put is ham and black olives. You can get pizza at different resturants like Pizza Hut,Me & Eds,Round Table and many other different pizza places all around the world!! Pizza is somtimes at birthday parties!!
